Suffering

One of the best moments from a great movie called 'Little Miss Sunshine'

Dwayne: I wish I could just sleep until I was eighteen and skip all crap-high school and everything-just skip it.
Frank: Do you know who Marcel Proust is?
Dwayne: He's the guy you teach.
Frank: Yeah. French writer. Total loser. Never had a real job. Unrequited love affairs. Gay. Spent twenty years writing a book almost no one reads. But he's also probably the greatest writer since Shakespeare. Anyway, he uh...he gets down to the end of his life, and he looks back and decides that all those years he suffered...those were the best years of his life 'cause they made him who he was. All those years he was happy? You know, total waste. Didn't learn a thing. So if you sleep until you're 18...ah, think of the suffering you're gonna miss. I mean high school? High school: those are your prime suffering years. You don't get better suffering than that.

april come she will..

I think this is probably one of the most beautiful short songs ever made.

April come she will
When streams are ripe and swelled with rain;
May, she will stay,
Resting in my arms again

June, she´ll change her tune,
In restless walks she´ll prowl the night;
July, she will fly
And give no warning to her flight.

August, die she must,
The autumn winds blow chilly and cold;
September I´ll remember.
A love once new has now grown old.

International Mission Trip

Hello world!

I just wanted to ask for your support in my future endeavors. I am going to be going overseas to work as an artist and missionary. The purpose of my trip is to establish relationships with other artists through everyday life and some type of visual art project or exhibition so that I may share the Gospel with them. I need to raise aproximately $9,000 by mid-July. That's a lot of money and God is challenging me to have the faith to see people give all that I need. If you feel led to, please help and support me in this trip with prayers and donations.

DONATE HERE

Thank you so much for already supporting what I do. I pray that God be glorified in this trip, in my work and in my life.

BEAST mode.

I think I've realized why I'm such a moody worker. (It's not that I'm cranky when I work, but I don't do well when I'm not feeling any creative vibes.) I definitely think it is largely attributed to the fact that when I work, I work NON-STOP. Literally. I have been on my computer for the past three days working on and completing TWELVE different graphic projects. That's huge.

At best, I used to be able to complete maybe three or so a day. I can definitely see progress from those days. I've gotten around six done each day and I've been interrupted. The actual count: five different 30X35in posters and eleven different event/info/advertising slides. Wow. It makes me so happy to know I love my work that much to sit down and do it continuously--even when its not needed (all projects were finished a week or more in advance).

Praise God for what He's giving me. Check out my work for the College & 20's service! Soli deo Gloria.

for my kind of people.

Please don't take that title as favoritism. I LOVE people. It's crazy how happy it makes me to connect with someone, especially if it's someone who comes from different places and views than myself. But, for those who don't...for those who are similar to me in their work and thought...let me send you a bit of Michael Gungor's wisdom from my new favorite blog post of his [READ IT HERE].

Artists: Take heart. I think the tides may be turning. The recent attention and success of our band speaks to it I think. People are growing weary of the status quo. The machine and its sheen have seen its strongest days. So I encourage you as well to not be afraid. Your art is worth making even if the industry around you isn’t quite ready for it yet. Make it and let them catch up with you. Your art is sacred. Be honest. Be brave. And don’t let the markets or the industry be the final filter on your art, let your heart do that. Ok that’s all from me tonight.
